Guest Speaker: Meet Ruth Harrigan

What began as a quirky birthday gift (three chickens instead of a dog!) led Ruth down an unexpected path—one that bloomed into a full-fledged passion for beekeeping, pollinator advocacy, and natural products. After a 20-year career in finance, a thoughtful thank-you gift of honey in a bear-shaped bottle sparked an idea that became HoneyGramz, her line of sweet, edible greeting messages—now with over 150 heartfelt, humorous, and holiday-themed options.
Not stopping there, Ruth also launched Mee Beauty, a pollinator-friendly skincare line made with honey and natural ingredients—proving that bee-loving beauty can also support the planet. Through her businesses, Ruth donates a portion of sales to bee conservation efforts.
Buzzing around the boroughs in her “NYC BEES” mobile, Ruth is on a mission to inspire others to support local, protect pollinators, and find joy in the unexpected.
