Broadway Under the Stars Delivers a Magical Evening of Music, Community, and Giving
On a beautiful summer evening in Celebrate Park, hundreds of community members gathered under the stars for an unforgettable night of music as Broadway Under the Stars brought the excitement of New York's theater district to the heart of St. James.
This extraordinary fundraiser was made possible through the generosity of St. James native and Broadway performer Jenna Schoen and her husband, Keith Hines, who brought together an exceptional group of friends and fellow performers to donate their time and talents in support of Celebrate St. James and the restoration of the historic Calderone Theater.
Audiences were treated to an incredible collection of songs from Hamilton, Wicked, Waitress, Beauty and the Beast, Hadestown, Next to Normal, and many other Broadway favorites before the evening concluded with an electrifying tribute to Jersey Boys that had the crowd singing along and asking for more.
One of the evening's most memorable moments came during intermission, when audience members participated in an intimate question-and-answer session with the cast. Performers shared stories from their careers, offered advice to aspiring artists, and generously connected with audience members of all ages. It was a rare opportunity to hear firsthand about the dedication, perseverance, and passion behind life on the stage.
The event also featured VIP experiences, song sponsorships, concessions, and a 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds benefiting the restoration of the historic Calderone Theater and its transformation into the Celebrate St. James Center for the Arts. Community members sponsored songs in honor of loved ones, creating heartfelt moments throughout the evening while supporting a meaningful cause.
